Go Phonics Beginning Reading Program provides a strong foundation of the K-2 literacy skills needed from third grade on: alphabet, phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, handwriting, spelling, grammar, punctuation, comprehension, fluency, plus K-2 language arts.

Our Mission: to empower parents, teachers, tutors... to successfully teach ALL beginning readers, especially those who struggle or have a language learning difficulty (LLD/dyslexia). Based on and compatible with the Orton-Gillinham approach, the process used is systematic, explicit, multisensory phonics instruction. Lessons systematically guide you each step of the way to using research-based strategies, rules, powerful tips and tricks.

"Phonics instruction, to be effective in promoting independence in reading, must be embedded in the context of a total reading/language arts program."
International Reading Assoc., Phonics Position Paper

Go Phonics aligns with this position, as a balanced literacy program. It streamlines the learning process by teaching phonics sequentially, a step at a time, with language arts. As these skills are taught they're practiced then applied in a meaningful, controlled reading experience.

Over 80 Decodable, Phonetically
Sequenced Stories Provide a Big Advantage:

Six storybook volumes are uniquely written with highly controlled text -- 93% decodable, with just a few non-decodable words taught that need to be taught in advance. They follow a phonics building block sequence that minimizes confusion, utilizing only the skills taught to date. As you teach a new phonics code, pattern, language arts skill... you link it to meaningful reading. Integrated tools include 50 phonics games to prepare them for success. With preparation and practice, students can really read these stories! Using this building block approach to teach phonics, future stories build on the skills and include words with sound/spellings taught in prior lessons to give additional practice. This provides the student with important benefits:

  • He gains confidence each step of the way.
  • It gives him ongoing decoding practice.
  • It provides repetition to cement the skills in long-term memory.
  • It improves comprehension and fluency skills...and more

"I am a process oriented person. I found that my children learn best when they are taught one skill at a time and build on those skills. Go Phonics is the most processed-oriented reading program I have found. To me, that's the way a reading program should be.
Jean Zinc --home educator, IA

Go Phonics is designed to be effective for teaching students who struggle because of gaps, have LLD (language learning difficulties), or dyslexia. It's based on and compatible with the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Natural beginning readers need a strong phonics foundation too. Otherwise, they rely too heavily on word memorization. Go Phonics helps them become independent readers sooner by learning the codes of the language. This helps them to decode larger multi-syllable words on their own.
